Looking for help

MsJackson started this conversation
Hi
My name is Ms.Jackson. I live in Dallas, TX. I found this site due to searching for some help. I am not sure how real this site is or how it does work. I have some things going on that I need help with. I am looking for a place to work. I have filled out so many places and I do not know what I am doing wrong. I have just come out a abusive relationship and I need to find a dentist who will work with me because the man did not allow me to care for my teeth and it shows highly. I do not have a place now that I have left him. I am staying with someone right now but not for long. I am long for a place of my own. I really want a job and a place and I can find direction. I do not have alot of clothes since I left everything that I had with him. I really need the help and I do not know what to do or where to go. If anyone know anything that I can do or where I can go would you please tell me. I am willing to work anywhere and find a way there. Just please help me if you can. I would appreciate it so much. Thank you

in response to azura...   Im sorry to hear. I know in this economy having a large family is difficult as resources seem to be constantly drying up. I have off-set the slow economy by couponing and cooking really low cost foods that stretch..I also have saved alot on our monthly household bills by weatherizing our home and doing practical things such as turning the hotwater heater down, limiting long showers and keeping the heater set no higher than 68..our electric went from 328 a month down to about 94...I also found out that keeping things unplugged helps a ton because the device may not be plugged in but it keeps using the electricity as if it is..a prime example of this is the WII or XBOX games..they cost more than almost every other device that you plug in..and my kids were playing them constantly and keeping them plugged up when they werent in use..the electrical company pointed this out as being extemely expensive..in any case, we have to save ourselves in this day and age..the programs we paid into our entire lives are now not available to us so its time to think of ways to help ourselves.
I wish you the best and hope to see you on the site again

in response to bookworm2011...   Thanks for that explanation. I recently joined this site. Unfortunately, there are to few orgs to help in my area and few jobs We are a family of 8, soon to be 9 when another son moves back home till he can get on his feet again. We struggle to survive on my SS disability and husband's unemployment.

The way this site works, is that there are people that volunteer their time to let you know about resources available in whatver area you have a need in. You will receive mostly advice or information about organizations that can help you. Sometimes members trade clothing or items with each other to help one another out..other times its just referrals..it depends on the situation and how much knowledge someone has in that particular area. Mostly, it is just a support system with others struggling in some form or another, that can give you examples or advice on what you are going through.
I hope this gives you a better idea of what this site is about.
